A little girl, perhaps 3 years old and cradled in her mother’s arms, observed the scene.
Her mother was shouting at “those in authority” – the men assigned to keep the immigrants in the place designated by their bosses. The woman was almost out of self-control.
And the little girl just watched from what she had learned to be a place of safety.
Like you or I, these families want to in safe, happy homes, where their sweet memories of family-life can be made.
The little girl will remember what happened on that day when her mother’s self-control almost disappeared. Her memory may not be accurate as she grows.
But should not we, who have stability and safety in our lives, help little girls like her?
